I still don't know if it's an accident of rust or somebody's work of art
In fact I never know if my drawings are stolen from nature or from a human hand
It doesn't matter much, in the end, I know they're not mine.
I find this drawing too pretty
even if it's not as lovely as the original
I can't stop looking at it
tons.
This is a lovely little book written backwards. With Guillaume, first we made watercolor spots on a bunch of little pieces of paper, all the same colors. Then, turning them this way and that, we saw little people in them, and drew the lines. Afterwards we put them in an order, and finally wrote the story to go along with it. We were so pleased with what came out. If you look close you can see which ones Guillaume drew and which ones are mine.
I was tired of stories designed to put kids to sleep, and so I wrote a story/poem to wake kids up by. Guillermo drew the pictures, and I colored them.
Sand dollars, when you break them open, have five tiny white V's in them that look like birds with their wings spread. I had heard some Legend explaining why, but I couldn't remember it, so I wrote my own.
Big project: Pyrographic decoration of the exterior of our friends' camper trailer (after Guillaume entirely covered it it wood!) They are touring northern Norway, performing a play they wrote which explains natural physics to middle-schoolers. The drawings illustrate scenes from the play: the characters travel farther and farther north, encountering moose, avalanches, frozen lakes and seagulls... You can learn more about their adventures here (in French or Norwegian...)
