Mom and Dad and I took a trip to England and Sweden.  Here's some of the stuff I drew in my new, bigger sketchbook:

The hip little tea (and local beer) shop in Aubusson is hosting my latest art show, until the end of October.  It's a smaller show this time, but there's some good stuff, take a look:

Here's what was hanging on the walls on the first floor of the Marcillat City Hall in July.  The Tourism Office ladies liked it and proposed a contract for 2 big paintings to go in the hallways of their new visitor's center, when construction is done in December.  Cool!

You'll see here what I most like to make: a bunch of illustrations for stories that don't exist.  Like usual, I'll let you imagine the tales that go with them...

As my art progresses, I continue to look for ecological alternatives to traditional painting and framing materials.  These frames are in recycled wood: old drawers, doors, and table inserts... I find that not only are they good-looking, but all those old chunks of oak and rusty nails add life to my paintings; and the other way around, of course- these objects take on a new worth instead of going to the dump.  The supports themselves of the paintings are also in natural materials: cotton paper and papier maché.

Even if all this is less resistant over time than the oil paintings at the Louvre, I prefer a million times over not to leave any trace behind me on this planet, than to leave a too-permanent trace for my great-grandkids.

Vous verrez ici ce que j’aime le plus faire : un tas d’illustrations pour des contes qui n’existent pas. Comme est mon habitude, je vous laisse imaginer les histoires qui vont avec...

Dans la progression de mon art, je continue à chercher des alternatives écologiques aux matériaux de peinture et d'encadrement traditionnels. Les cadres  sont faits en bois de récupération : des vieux tiroirs, des portes, des rallonges de table… Je trouve qu’en plus d’être beaux, tous ces vieux bouts de chêne et clous rouillés donnent de la vie à mes peintures ; et inversement, bien sûr, ils sont remis en valeur plutôt que de partir à la déchetterie. Les supports des peintures eux-mêmes sont également des matériaux naturels : du papier de coton ou bien du papier mâché.

Même si tout cela résiste moins bien au temps que les peintures à l'huile exposées au Louvre, je préfère mille fois ne pas laisser de trace sur ma planète que d'en laisser une trop permanente à mes arrière-petits-enfants.
